"City of David" is a historic neighborhood in Jerusalem located outside the Old City walls. It is located near the site of biblical Jerusalem, where according to the Bible, King David founded the city in 1004 BCE. It was historically home to many important figures in Jewish history and was the site for much of the early Jewish Temple activity. It is still considered one of the most important religious sites in Jerusalem, holy to both Jews and Muslims.
