Eliezer Kaplan Street in Jerusalem is named after one of Israel's founding fathers, Eliezer Kaplan. Kaplan was a member of the Jewish Agency and he served as the 1st finance minister of Israel in the early days of the nation's independence. During his time, he was responsible for a large portion of the funding needed to develop the infrastructure of the country. In recognition of his contributions, a street in Jerusalem was given his name in the 1950s.
