HaRav Berlin is named after Rabbi Avraham Berlin, an influential rabbi in Jerusalem during the mid-1800s. He was a mentor to many students and assembled a large congregation in Jerusalem. He was a popular teacher and lecturer, even teaching at the local Hebrew school in Jerusalem. It is believed that Rabbi Berlin was a major influence on the city and the street being named after him is a testament to this reverence.
