The King David Street in Jerusalem winds around the walls of the Old City and connects to David Street, believed to be named after King David. The street was built and named in the late 19th century under the rule of Ottoman Empire. After the 1948 founding of Israel, King David Street was reconstructed and has since become a major thoroughfare in Jerusalem.
